Description Blueberries grow in sandy regions of the northern United States. Leaves are obovate, about one inch long, upper surface dark green and shiny. The bush flowers in May with reddish pink or white petals with red lips; 5 seeds resembling currants in appearance, but of a dark blue or black color, with a purplish bloom.

Properties and Uses The leaves are strongly astringent. Makes an excellent tea.

Dose A teaspoonful of the leaves or berries to a cup of boiling water.

Drink one or two cups a day.
